Amman, Jan. 12 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Environment has called on the public to play an active role in preserving Jordan’s natural resources and promoting a culture of shared environmental responsibility. Such efforts are vital for protecting public health and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.

The Ministry encouraged participation in national initiatives, including clean-up drives and tree-planting campaigns, and urged citizens to report harmful environmental practices. It emphasized its ongoing commitment to awareness programs and regulatory measures designed to safeguard natural resources and enhance the quality of life throughout the Kingdom.

To facilitate citizen reporting, the Ministry has set up a dedicated hotline (117119), WhatsApp numbers (0790861998 / 0781801143), and communication channels through its official website and social media platforms. Complaints can include photos or videos, allowing for quick verification, follow-up, and legal action against violators under Jordanian environmental law.

Reports are accepted 24/7 and handled confidentially. The Ministry stressed that citizen engagement is essential to the success of the national environmental program, strengthening oversight and helping to curb practices that threaten both the environment and public health.
